Susie Levin (Boulder, CO)
Susie Levin is a mixed media artist, creating large abstract paintings and smaller colorful dogs. The abstracts combine acrylic paint on wood panels with carved wood inserts. The dogs are created with acrylic paint on cardboard mounted to wood. In 1990, Susie quit her art director job in Chicago and began painting abstracts. She and her sculptor husband Mitch raised two creative kids and have been selling art ever since, moving their studios and gallery to Boulder, Colorado in 2013. In 2023, Susie rescued the perfect cardboard “canvases” from a dumpster and because of her passion for rescuing animals, she began her dog paintings. “I like to push my limits with my art, like taking a recipe but never sticking to the exact ingredients.” @susielevin11 susielevinart.com
