Elaine Tassy (Aurora, CO)

Hello! My name is Elaine Tassy and I am a Haitian-American artist living in Aurora. By day I'm a journalist (www.cpr.org/author/elaine-tassy/) and in my spare time I'm a collage artist (www.elainetassy.com). What's unique about my work is that I try to use as many recycled materials as possible. I get frames and mats from framed art for sale at thrift stores, and disassemble them and remove the artwork already in it and replace it with my own. I have been experimenting recently with gel plate printing as well as using more narrative techniques in my work.
